Who is this course for?

This course, offered entirely online with live instruction, is for anyone who’s interested in learning to practice and teach yoga well, but is unable to attend an in-class training at a studio.

The emphasis of this course is on the regular practice and understanding of key postures and the ability to cue these essential postures clearly - either online or in a studio setting.

Students for whom English is a second language will benefit from online captioning and auto-generated notes for each session. A recording of every session will also be sent to participants to review.

The learning outcomes for the course include the ability to lead a yoga class in public or online with confidence, employing observation skills, postural sequencing competence, and clear language.

What Happens in Each 2-Hour Live Session?

Every session in our online yoga teacher training is carefully crafted to deliver a balance of movement, knowledge, and teaching skills—so you graduate confident and ready to lead.

Each 2-hour class follows this consistent format:

🔹 Welcome & Review (15 minutes)

We begin every class by checking in, reviewing key takeaways from the previous session, and answering your questions in real time. This builds continuity, keeps you engaged, and ensures your voice is heard.

🔹Physical Practice (45 minutes)

You’ll move through a guided yoga class led by our experienced teachers—Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, or Chair Yoga depending on the day's focus. As a trainee, you’ll experience both practicing and observing, learning how to cue, adjust, and sequence with confidence.

🔹Theory & Philosophy (45 minutes)

Dive deep into the "why" behind the poses. These interactive lessons cover yoga humanities, anatomy, ethics, meditation, and teaching methodology. Our live format allows for engaging discussions, not just passive listening.

🔹Teaching Practice (15 minutes)

Practice makes progress. Each session ends with a mini-teaching segment—whether it's cueing one pose, leading a short flow, or giving feedback to a peer. You’ll gain hands-on experience in every class so that by the end, teaching feels natural.

📌 Real Structure. Real Feedback. Real Progress.

This structured, interactive format sets our 200hr online yoga teacher training apart from self-paced video courses. Every session is an opportunity to integrate what you learn, ask questions, and grow within a supportive group.

Why choose this training when there are dozens priced for less than half of this tuition?

It’s simple. This isn’t a pre-recorded, study at your own pace downloadable online 200hr yoga teacher training. Every session is a live video call where real-time questions and teachings are shared. It’s a program where you actually have the time to ask all the questions you need and get a thorough walk through so that each evening you can feel more confident as a student or teacher!

Jennifer Clarke E-RYT 500 - Co-Lead 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainer

Jennifer Clarke ERYT-500, I started practicing yoga in the 90s and since then it has been a daily part of my life. Yoga practice has helped me stay embodied during challenges of life.  It is a self care tool that supports me to be responsive to life, uphold my boundaries, respect the boundaries of others, show up, and flow through my life.  I can absolutely say that my yoga practice has helped me become a better parent. I have been teaching weekly classes since 2006 and I am so grateful to my students all these years, some of whom I've had the honour of teaching since the beginning of my career.

My formal yoga training includes 200hr Yogaworks Teacher Training, a 300hr Teacher Training with Open Source Yoga, Anatomy and Physiology at Langara College, 100 hour Ashtanga Teacher Training with Fiona Stang, and 1000’s of hours of training, courses and workshops with excellent local teachers and master teachers from abroad. I completed a 1,000 hour Qigong Practitioner and Masters level training program with Empty Mountain.

I am an Expressive Movement Facilitator, (soon to be a Registered Somatic Educator). I have completed a 3-year studio based contemporary dance training, two years of dance at University of Calgary and have been dancing and performing for over 20 years in Canada and parts of Europe. I also have a BA in Literature. I’ve dedicated my life to the study of movement, yoga, dance, meditation, spirituality, energetic healing and qigong.

Delia Brett E-RYT 500 - Co-Lead 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainer

I am the current studio owner of Green Room Yoga, an experienced registered teacher with the Yoga Alliance, Yoga Shred Certified Teacher, Certified Energy Codes Facilitator and Transformational Coach. I have been teaching yoga since 2003 and teaching at Green Room Yoga since it moved out of Alix Rodrigues’ living room and onto Hastings Street in 2008.

My personal journey with yoga began about 26 years ago but the unique approach I bring to my classes today, actually began long before that. Like you, I am a fusion of many voices, teachers, practices and influences. Chief among these influences has been dance – more specifically, Contact Dance – a form of improvised dance that foregrounds an embodied, moment to moment experience of the natural laws of physics. It is this form, which I have been practicing, performing and teaching for over 35 years, that has informed my yoga the most. But to give credit where credit is due, it wasn’t until I began to study the work of revolutionary anatomists, Thomas Myers & Gil Hedley and yoga innovator, Sadie Nardini over a decade ago that I was able to develop the model and language I needed to effectively communicate this felt understanding of physics to others.

After 21 years of teaching yoga, I think it’s fair to say my practice has shifted. These days, I am more inspired to guide awareness through movement, stillness and breath back to the elemental spark of joy – the spirit of play and experimentation. Because I believe that when we cultivate an inner posture (asana) of curiosity and wonder in our bodies we don’t just dissolve stress, we learn to become intimate with ourselves again and in doing so, we bring upliftment and healing to our increasingly complex world.
