Restorative Yoga Teacher Training in Vancouver
Why Restorative Yoga?
We live in a hectic period of history - our daily lives are replete with an overwhelming number of choices, startling noise ranging from TV to traffic, harmful chemicals in our food & environment and worrying news coming at us from every possible direction. This confusion arouses in us a heightened tone in our sympathetic nervous systems (SNS), which contributes to conditions ranging from insomnia to burnout to inflammatory diseases such as diabetes and Alzheimer’s.
We all know that movement is medicine, and Restorative Yoga is particularly effective at calming the nervous system, creating a deep sense of peace and nudging the nervous system towards parasympathetic tone. This is known as the “rest and digest” system (PNS) , versus the “fight or flight” aspect of the sympathetic nervous system.

About the instructor
Trained in Hatha, Restorative, Hot and Aerial Yoga, Niki leads workshops and retreats worldwide. Her classes invite you to move more slowly to feel more deeply. Gentle myofascial release techniques, yoga postures, the breath, music and deep rest are combined to create an environment where your body and mind can practice, and learn, to find ease.
Her strongest influence is Vijnana Yoga - a gentle but strong, inwardly-focused practice - and she strives to bring its sense of presence and peace to all of her classes. Niki encourages questions, community and connection above all else and gratitude towards her teachers, students included, guides her every move.
