ng the Gap Between Training and Teaching

From Training to Teaching

Completing your 200-hour teacher training is a tremendous accomplishment—but it's often just the beginning of becoming a confident teacher.

After years of leading teacher trainings, we've noticed that many graduates leave with a strong foundation and are ready to deepen four essential teaching skills: intelligent modifications, hands-on adjustments, purposeful sequencing, and supporting individual bodies in Yin.

These practical skills turn knowledge into confident, responsive teaching.

Designed as a natural extension of your 200-hour training, these Graduate Teaching Labs bridge the gap between learning to teach and teaching with confidence. Through hands-on practice, feedback, and real teaching scenarios, you'll continue refining your skills while developing your own authentic teaching voice.

A Pathway Into Teaching

Practice is essential to becoming a teacher.

That's why we're creating a pathway for graduates to move from training into real teaching experience.

with Delia Brett

Saturday, October 3, 2026
1:00–4:00 PM
Green Room Yoga

Hands-on adjustments are one of the most nuanced skills a yoga teacher develops.

In this experiential lab, we'll learn to see before we touch. Together we'll explore body reading, consent, observation, intention, and the principles behind effective, respectful hands-on assists. We'll practice when to adjust, how to adjust, and—just as importantly—when not to.

You'll leave with greater confidence, practical skills, and a deeper understanding of how thoughtful touch can support learning, deepen awareness, and enhance the student experience.

Graduate Teaching Lab 4

The Art of Supporting Yin

Alignment for Every Body

with Andrew Fredericks

Saturday, October 31, 2026
1:00–4:00 PM
Green Room Yoga

Yin asks us to stay in a pose and in a shape—but staying in a shape doesn't mean everybody should look the same.

In this practical lab, we'll explore how to help students find intelligent alignment and support while respecting the enormous variety of bodies that come into a Yin practice.

We'll explore how to use props creatively, offer variations, and recognize when a student's experience calls for more support, more space, or a different approach. Together, we'll consider how alignment can be responsive rather than prescriptive, helping each student find an appropriate relationship to the pose.

You'll leave with practical tools and greater confidence in supporting diverse bodies in your Yin classes.
